Attacks on firefighters are an everyday occurrence for many firefighters, especially those from professional fire departments: this worrying trend is confirmed by the second joint survey conducted by the German Firefighters’ Association (DFV) and the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV).
The study, which included not only volunteer fire departments but also professional and industrial fire departments, shows the urgent need to work towards the prevention of violence and a social climate in which violence has no place. Both associations are actively working towards this goal with their “No violence” and #GewaltAngehen campaigns. They have announced in resolutions that they will continue to consistently address the phenomenon of violence against emergency services and strengthen their prevention.
The summarized results of the second joint survey and further information can be found on the DFV website.
