Call for Participation at the 40th International A+A Congress 2027: Stability through prevention

Submissions are now open for the 40th International A+A Congress 2027. With its call for participation under the heading “Stability through prevention – occupational safety and health as the key to crisis resilience in turbulent times”, Basi, the German Federal Working Group for Safety and Health at Work, is inviting contributors to help shape the programme of this anniversary congress. The congress will be held in Düsseldorf from 19 to 22 October 2027, alongside the international A+A trade fair.

Basi’s Managing Director, Dr Christian Felten, puts it clearly: “Occupational safety and health is not a cost factor, but a factor for stability. Companies that invest in prevention safeguard their performance, not least in turbulent times. ‘People matter’ – visitors to the 40th A+A Congress in 2027 will be able to experience in full what this motto means.”

Bärbel Bas, Germany’s Federal Minister for Labour and Social Affairs, supports the call for participation with her own personal greeting. She emphasises the importance of applied preventive activity for the resilience of businesses, workers and society as a whole in times of international crises, climate change and the digital transformation of the world of work, and calls for the active contribution of topics and practical examples to the congress.

Six topic clusters offer guidance for submissions, reflecting the key challenges of our time:

  • Organisational resilience and agency
  • Human resilience, health and safe working practices
  • Resilience of technology, digital systems and infrastructures
  • Transformation of work, skills and fitness for the future
  • Cooperation, networks and societal resilience
  • Framework conditions, responsibility and a culture of resilience

A case study, research findings, a project presentation, a poster, a workshop or a dialogue format: papers relating to the key note of the congress can take numerous different forms. Besides lectures, posters and panel discussions, Basi expressly welcomes and encourages interactive formats such as the World Café, Fishbowl and BarCamp, and the PechaKucha (a short-presentation format with 20 slides, each lasting 20 seconds, for concise insights).
