Submissions are now being accepted for the 40th International A+A Congress in 2027. Under the theme “Prevention Ensures Stability—Occupational Safety and Health as the Key to Crisis Resilience in Turbulent Times,” the Federal Association for Safety and Health at Work (Basi) e. V. is inviting participants to help shape the program of the anniversary congress through its Call for Participation. It will take place from October 19 to 22, 2027, in Düsseldorf—coinciding with the international A+A trade fair.
Basi Managing Director Dr. Christian Felten makes it clear: “Workplace safety is not a cost factor. It is a factor in stability. Companies that invest in prevention ensure their performance even in turbulent times. People matter—we will bring this motto to life at the 40th A+A Congress in 2027.”
Federal Minister of Labor Bärbel Bas supports the call with a personal message. She emphasizes how important active prevention is for the resilience of companies, employees, and society in times of international crises, climate change, and the digital transformation of the world of work—and calls on participants to actively contribute topics and practical examples.
Six thematic clusters, which reflect the key challenges of our time, provide guidance for submissions:
- Organizational Resilience and Capacity to Act
- Human Resilience, Health, and Workplace Safety
- Technical, Digital, and Infrastructure Resilience
- The Transformation of Work, Skills, and Future Readiness
- Cooperation, Networks, and Social Resilience
- Framework Conditions, Accountability, and a Culture of Resilience
Whether it’s a practice report, research findings, a project presentation, a poster, a workshop, or a dialogue format: Contributions related to the conference’s central theme can take many forms. In addition to presentations, posters, and panel discussions, Basi expressly welcomes and encourages innovative formats such as World Café, Fishbowl, Barcamp, or Pecha Kucha (a short-presentation format with 20 slides, each lasting 20 seconds, for concise insights).
