Effective occupational health and safety is based on many elements and their interaction. This includes not only an appropriate and up-to-date set of rules and regulations, but also coordinated cooperation between the various stakeholders in different committees. The current issue of the publication “baua: Aktuell” sheds light on how the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) is further developing the structures, strategies and instruments of occupational safety and thus contributing to the effectiveness of occupational safety.
The changing world of work brings with it new demands and burdens for employees, which also changes the framework conditions for occupational health and safety. By collecting and evaluating representative surveys, the BAuA gains insights into the prevalence of occupational health and safety measures in companies. These findings help to further develop prevention strategies. Research projects also investigate the challenges and opportunities of technological developments for occupational health and safety.
The BAuA supports the implementation of the National Occupational Safety and Health Strategy not only through research, but also in organizational and technical terms. Other articles in this issue deal with “Mobile and hybrid work” as part of the EU OSHA campaign, the new “Services” exhibition at DASA and publications on risk assessment.
