DGUV survey: How often are protective devices tampered with?

How often does an accident happen because safety devices on a machine have been disabled? Occupational safety experts assume that around a quarter of such accidents at work can be attributed to manipulation. The Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (IFA) of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) is conducting an anonymous survey to assess the current situation. All persons responsible for occupational safety in companies are invited to take part and give their feedback.

What experiences have you had in your company with manipulated protective devices? What is your overall assessment of the situation? And what do you think could help to ensure that protective devices are manipulated less frequently? The DGUV states that the survey can be answered in five minutes.
