Mobile work on screens – IFA looks at the state of research
rsicherung (IFA). The IFA has compiled the current state of research on the influence of mobile VDU work on physical health. The researchers looked at influencing factors such as devices, input surfaces, duration of use, posture, furniture and lighting conditions and their effects on the musculoskeletal system and the eyes.
The results show that unfavorable postures, environmental factors and unsuitable work equipment alone or in combination can lead to physical impairments after just five to 15 minutes. The impairments are also generally greater than when working at a stationary VDU workstation.
Further information can be found on the DGUV website, where the review is published.
