The end of the Corona Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance

The end of the Corona Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance

Federal Minister of Labor Hubertus Heil has announced that the Corona Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance will be repealed ahead of schedule on February 2, 2023 as part of a ministerial decree. Heil told Reuters that the special hygiene precautions had provided important services, especially during the peak phases of the pandemic. Thanks to the extensive protective measures, infections in companies had been prevented and work and production losses avoided. Due to the increasing immunity in the population, however, the number of new cases is now falling sharply, which is why uniform nationwide requirements for company infection protection are no longer necessary.
