Running away is not an option: VDSI meets to discuss occupational health and safety on research vessels and at universities

Research vessels are floating laboratories, equipped with state-of-the-art and special technology for data collection and analysis. Just like at universities, international teams with different professions work here in very confined spaces and sometimes under extreme conditions. How must occupational safety be designed and coordinated so that everyone returns home safely at the end of the day? This and other questions on occupational safety in research and teaching will be addressed at the 45th symposium of the VDSI – German Association for Safety, Health and Environmental Protection at Work’s Universities and Scientific Institutions section from September 9 to 11, 2024 in Hamburg. Among the speakers are: Prof. Dr. Nale Lehmann-Willenbrock (Center for Better Work UHH), Stefan Ganzke (WandelWerker and VDSI FB Prevention Culture), Georg Maringer (Working Group of University Chancellors) and Torsten Gast (Phoenix Contact).
The complete program with all speakers as well as the possibility to register can be found on the homepage.
