From November 4 to 7, 2025, Düsseldorf will become the meeting place for everyone committed to occupational safety and health. The 39th International Congress on Occupational Safety and Occupational Medicine (A+A Congress) will bring together experts from around the world – including scientists, workplace practitioners, executives, occupational physicians, and policymakers. They all share one goal: to make the world of work safer, healthier, and more future-proof.
Organized by the Federal Association for Occupational Safety and Health (Basi), the A+A Congress runs parallel to the A+A Trade Fair – together forming the world’s largest event dedicated to prevention and occupational safety.
The congress will focus on the major questions of our time: How is artificial intelligence changing occupational safety? What role does sustainability play in work design? How can mental health and ergonomic concepts be strengthened in a digitalized world? And how can prevention succeed in small and medium-sized enterprises?
This year, special attention will be given to the international Vision Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate workplace accidents and occupational diseases entirely. In Hall 9 of the exhibition grounds, Vision Zero will be showcased with its own stage and experience area – a powerful symbol of the global movement.
But the congress offers much more than expert lectures. With formats such as “Crime Scene Workplace,” an event addressing violence against employees, the A+A Cinema featuring occupational safety films across genres, interactive poster exhibitions on occupational diseases and the latest research findings, the international WeaRAcon conference on wearable robotics, and live activities on the A+A Trend Forum stage – occupational safety becomes an experience. Here, ideas are not only discussed – they are demonstrated, tested, and lived.
Basi members invite visitors to the Safety and Health Meeting Point in Hall 5. Anyone looking for information, wanting to engage with experts, or seeking new inspiration will find the right place there. Basi will also present itself at its own booth in Hall 5.
For those who want to experience occupational safety in practice, the congress offers exclusive company visits to Mercedes, Teekanne, and Westnetz. These visits showcase how modern companies implement safety, health, and sustainability in concrete terms.
