Make a note now, the best is coming at the end of the year: The A+A Congress 2025 (November 4 to 7, 2025) promises to be a highlight – with a variety of exciting topics and innovative approaches as well as the opportunity for experts to exchange ideas at the numerous forums.
Here you will find a foretaste.

Common goal: More safety and health at work! The Federal Working Group for Safety and Health at Work (Basi) hosted a board and members’ meeting at the home of Basi member DIN in Berlin. The guests came in large numbers and were committed to making the event a success. The meetings focused on preparations for the A+A Congress 2025, which will be enriched by many new aspects. In this context, the Basi is extending its deadline for the Call for Participation until November 15, 2024.

How can sustainability be taken into account and implemented for personal protective equipment (PPE)? At the 5th A+A Expert Talk on November 5, 2024, best practice examples will be used to demonstrate the exemplary structures for the sustainable use of PPE in companies. Christine Hentschel, Business Development Manager Sustainability at the Uvex Safety Group, and Bernadette Niehaus, Sustainability Manager at 3 M Germany, will be speaking from 10 a.m. onwards. They will be available online for discussions until 11 am.

Successful new concepts presented at the A+A Congress are among the important topics in the ASU Magazine – Journal for Medical Prevention. Speakers and keynote speakers engaged by Basi at the A+A Congress present their ideas in a series of articles. Some texts have already been published, and Basi is planning more together with the editorial team – with a view to the 39th International A+A Congress in 2025.

To mark World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 28, 2024, the leading international trade fair A+A and the Federal Association for Occupational Safety and Health (Basi) are emphasizing their commitment to the further development of global occupational health and safety. With the hashtag #WorldSafetyandHealthDay, the A+A trade fair and its partner Basi are calling on people to discuss the future of occupational health and safety on social networks. The aim is to find solutions for the comprehensive tasks in a rapidly changing world of work.

As part of the successful A+A Expert Talks webinar series, Basi organized an event on the topic of hazardous substances: four experts answered questions from around 500 listeners. The experts’ presentations can be downloaded as a PDF – you can also read the answers to the questions asked in the chat.

Cleaning agents, detergents and washing chemicals are also among the hazardous substances for which a risk assessment must be drawn up. Dieter Zipfel, a trained occupational safety specialist who works at Bardusch, a textile service company with branches throughout Germany, knows this. He uses the “Simple Concept of Measures for Hazardous Substances” (EMKG) from the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) for risk assessments.

Dr Christian Felten, Managing Director of Basi, gave an interview on the work of Basi, the A+A Congress 2023 and occupational safety and health in general for the latest KAN Newsletter from the Commission for Safety and Standardization. He can also be heard in detail as an expert on these topics in the KAN podcast – which represents the interests of occupational safety and health in standardization.
