Submissions are now open for the 40th International A+A Congress 2027. With its call for participation under the heading “Stability through prevention – occupational safety and health as the key to crisis resilience in turbulent times”, Basi, the German Federal Working Group for Safety and Health at Work, is inviting contributors to help shape the programme of this anniversary congress. The congress will be held in Düsseldorf from 19 to 22 October 2027, alongside the international A+A trade fair.

Submissions are now being accepted for the 40th International A+A Congress in 2027. Under the theme “Prevention Ensures Stability—Occupational Safety and Health as the Key to Crisis Resilience in Turbulent Times,” the Federal Working Group for Safety and Health at Work (Basi) e. V. is inviting participants to help shape the program of the anniversary congress through its Call for Participation. It will take place from October 19 to 22, 2027, in Düsseldorf—coinciding with the international A+A trade fair.

EU-OSHA has published a new highlight focusing on how labour inspectorates and prevention services can better support occupational safety and health (OSH) compliance in companies throughout Europe.

With around 3,000 participants from Germany and abroad, the 39th International Congress for Occupational Safety and Occupational Medicine, the A+A Congress 2025, once again confirmed its role as the leading platform for safety and health at work. In over 100 events with 330 speakers, current challenges, innovative solutions and forward-looking strategies were discussed – in a practical, interdisciplinary and international context.

From November 4 to 7, 2025, Düsseldorf will become the meeting place for everyone committed to occupational safety and health. The 39th International Congress on Occupational Safety and Occupational Medicine (A+A Congress) will bring together experts from around the world – including scientists, workplace practitioners, executives, occupational physicians, and policymakers. They all share one goal: to make the world of work safer, healthier, and more future-proof.

Every year, the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the construction industry (BG BAU) registers more than 90,000 accidents at work. Every fourth day, construction workers suffer a fatal accident. All those who have lost their lives as a result of an accident at work or an occupational illness are remembered on Workers Memorial Day. The idea is that no one should be harmed at work. BG BAU is taking part in the central memorial event organized by the German Construction, Agricultural and Environmental Workers’ Union (IG BAU) on April 28 in Leipzig.
