Common goal: More safety and health at work! The Federal Working Group for Safety and Health at Work (Basi) hosted a board and members’ meeting at the home of Basi member DIN in Berlin. The guests came in large numbers and were committed to making the event a success. The meetings focused on preparations for the A+A Congress 2025, which will be enriched by many new aspects. In this context, the Basi is extending its deadline for the Call for Participation until November 15, 2024.
The members of Basi, the Federal Working Group for Safety and Health at Work, have now met at Messe Düsseldorf for their working conference. Plans for the A+A Congress 2025 were discussed and many new ideas and formats on the subject of occupational safety and health were discussed and considered. Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Thomas Mühlbradt, Professor of Work and Engineering Psychology at the FOM University of Applied Sciences for Economics & Management in Aachen, was invited as a guest. His topic: Safety II – an approach to safety at work that focuses on the causes of the predominantly positive treatment processes.
In the current issue 10/2023 of the DGUV Forum, Basi Managing Director Dr. Christian Felten gives an interview with an outlook on the three focal points of the 38th International A+A Congress 2023: Climate change, sustainability and digitalization.
What do respirators, collaborative robots and business trips have in common? Standards are being developed for them that play an important role in occupational safety and health. This and many other topics were discussed by the board and members of the Federal Working Group for Safety and Health at Work (Basi) e. V. at its members’ meeting, which took place in Hamburg this time.

The abbreviation RKW stands for the former “Reichskuratorium für Wirtschaftlichkeit in Industrie und Handwerk” – today’s RKW Competence Center is a source of inspiration and advice for German SMEs. Basi Managing Director Dr. Christian Felten congratulates RKW on its 100th anniversary – and looks forward to further cooperation.
