The Sixth Ordinance amending the Ordinance on Occupational Diseases (BKV) came into force at the beginning of April 2025. This amendment adds three new entries to the list of occupational diseases:
BK number 2117: Lesion of the rotator cuff of the shoulder caused by long-term strain such as overhead work, repetitive movements in the shoulder joint or lifting heavy loads.
BK number 2118: Gonarthrosis in professional soccer players who have been active for at least 13 years.
BK number 4117: Chronic obstructive bronchitis (COPD) including emphysema, triggered by exposure to quartz dust with a cumulative dose of at least two years of exposure to fine quartz dust.
The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) has updated its publication baua: Praxis kompakt “Liste der Berufskrankheiten” accordingly.
