Explore the impact of economic incentives and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting on occupational safety and health (OSH). Every year, the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the construction industry (BG BAU) registers more than 90,000 accidents at work. Every fourth day, construction workers suffer a fatal accident. All those who have lost their lives as a result of an accident at work or an occupational illness are remembered on Workers Memorial Day. The idea is that no one should be harmed at work. BG BAU is taking part in the central memorial event organized by the German Construction, Agricultural and Environmental Workers’ Union (IG BAU) on April 28 in Leipzig.
“You too! Act instead of gawking!” was the title of the violence prevention conference in Vienna, where 300 participants discussed concrete measures to combat violence and improve safety in the workplace. The event was organized by the Vienna Chamber of Labour, the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB), the trade unions vida, GPA, GÖD and the Weißer Ring association.
The German Road Safety Council (DVR) presents the Vision Zero Award to recognize innovative projects that are committed to a world without road deaths and serious injuries.
