“You too! Act instead of gawking!” was the title of the violence prevention conference in Vienna, where 300 participants discussed concrete measures to combat violence and improve safety in the workplace. The event was organized by the Vienna Chamber of Labour, the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB), the trade unions vida, GPA, GÖD and the Weißer Ring association.

Employees in the healthcare sector are particularly frequently affected by violence in the workplace: according to DGUV accident statistics for 2021, 6.9% of accidents at work in the healthcare and social services sector were caused by violence – more than in any other sector. Hospitals, care facilities and clinics are therefore called upon to protect their staff with a comprehensive concept against violence.
