Basi in dialog: Safety and health in sustainable companies<\/p>\n
How valuable are health and safety at work – not only in terms of motivated, healthy employees, but also for the sustainability and competitiveness of companies? What approaches are there, for example, for decision-makers to integrate occupational health and safety into sustainability strategies? What should company stakeholders do? Answers to these and many other questions were provided at the 1st online edition of “Die Basi im Dialog” on April 28, 2022, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
\nThe health of employees and protection against accidents at work and occupational illnesses must be important to companies as a matter of corporate responsibility and by law. The “Return on Prevention” study by the ISSA (International Social Security Association) has shown that the implementation of appropriate measures also has a positive economic impact. But that’s not all: occupational health and safety has been given an enormous boost within society. At the same time, ambitious sustainability goals and strategies are becoming increasingly prevalent in companies. The first edition of the new online discussion format “Basi in dialogue” focused on how established occupational health and safety concepts can be used in practice to support sustainable development.
\nThe series kicked off with Sebastian Bartels, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Sustainability Services at the global expert organization DEKRA, in conversation with Dr Christian Felten, Managing Director of Basi, the German Federal Association for Occupational Safety and Health. <\/p>\n
