WearRAcon Europe is an important conference in this field and will take place at A+A for the first time from 25-26 October 2023. European occupational health and safety stakeholders from research, politics and practice have now come together to celebrate the conclusion of the EU-OSHA campaign “Healthy Workplaces – Take the Pressure Off!”. The campaign for the prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) was implemented in 30 European countries by the Focal Points (FoPs). The statutory health insurance funds stepped up their commitment to health promotion and prevention again in 2021 following the coronavirus-related restrictions. A total of around 538 million euros was spent on a wide range of projects in living environments, workplace health promotion measures and individual prevention courses. According to the health insurance funds, the increase in expenditure was around 30 percent compared to the previous year. In addition, the long-term care insurance funds supported prevention activities in inpatient care facilities to the tune of 16 million euros. This is according to the latest prevention report from the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds and the Federal Medical Service.
The Council of the European Union and the European Parliament have provisionally agreed on a regulation on general product safety. This regulation updates the current rules to ensure that products sold both offline and online are safe and comply with European standards.
