How can exoskeletons make working life easier – and keep employees who have to lift and carry heavy loads or work above their heads healthy? Dr. Urs Schneider, Head of the Biomechatronics Department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) in Stuttgart, is an expert on this topic and informed the members of Basi, the Federal Working Group for Safety and Health at Work, about this at their most recent meeting.

As a hybrid event, the Prevention Forum 2022 dealt with the topic of “Climate change and health”. The focus was on health risks associated with climate change as well as activities for prevention, health, safety and participation promotion. Basi, the Federal Working Group for Safety and Health at Work, also took part: in his workshop “Adults in the employment phase”, Basi Managing Director Dr. Christian Felten discussed with participants what should be done in a company to keep employees healthy and protect them from the effects of climate change, especially heat.
